Quicksand

I try to escape

but you’re like quicksand

fiction draws me

I become lighter

can visit places

far beyond the traps you’ve made.

I have to thank you

for allowing me to see something beautiful

an imagined life

I try to escape

but you’re like quicksand.

  3. well duh. I guess I have been here before–I just forgot to click follow!! I did this time, though, and just love your work. So raw and true, but beautiful in its perception, too. No barrier between what’s read and what’s felt…

  4. Hello,
It’s been a while since you wrote this poem still, I want to thank you. I like the pattern as much as I like the thought, you’re writing are complex but subtle. Having a lot of pleasure reading by reading your posts.

  5. Thank you for visiting my blog. I was in awe with your illustrations! I was honestly frightened by some of your portraits as they were so raw, true and honest….I could feel the cruelty and pain that human carries but at the same time your illustrations have shown the beauty in us. I enjoyed your artwork very much.

  6. Great imagination! You are prolific, indeed. (I’ve been in these quicksand and/or “shrink to fit” relationships before. Happy to have made it out!) That you can write from the deepest places of what aches or dreams or cries or sings within you is a gift.

Oh, and by the way, thanks for liking my poem, “A Woman of Many Names”.
